Complex 5 Axis Machining

Five Axis Machining using the Bertsche two axes high response Direct DriveŽ head based on a patented gearless design provides near instantaneous acceleration and high rotation speed of the head for the machining of complex contours in 5 axes. The direct drive head provides very high reliability. Application fields include the aerospace industry and the die and mold industries. The combination of high accelerating linear and rotary axis is ideal for the high speed machining of monolithic parts, stringers, wing and tail sections that require pocket milling and picture frame milling of angled surfaces. The same features permit the finish milling of intricate molds and dies in light alloy and steel with spindle speeds to 30,000 rpm.
